SERVICES
Backflow Assembly Testing
Our certified Backflow Preventer Assembly Tester will check your backflow assembly using the procedures adopted by the WA State Dept. of Health and (backflow plumber’s association?) to verify it meets the minimum requirements to comply with federal, state and local laws. We use a Midwest Instruments test kit that is calibrated annually by the manufacturer. We test both commercial and residential backflow assemblies and submit the test results to the City.
Outdoor Backflow Repairs and Installations
If your backflow preventer assembly fails to meet the minimum standards, we can repair your existing assembly or replace it altogether. If you are installing a new sprinkler system, we would be happy to install the proper backflow preventer assembly to meet your system’s needs.
Indoor Repairs *Coming Soon!*
WA State law requires a Backflow Specialty Plumber’s license to repair and maintain backflow assemblies located inside buildings. I am proud to announce that I have recently acquired the necessary plumbing license and hope to offer this service in the near future!
Sprinkler Activation
We will turn on your water, activate your sprinkler system and run water through each of the zones. Our qualified technician will check for coverage, broken sprinkler heads, and verify each zone is functioning properly. Upon request, we can map out each zone and where sprinklers are located.
Sprinkler Blow-outs & Winterization
Sprinkler systems and backflow assemblies in our region need to be properly winterized to avoid breaks. After shutting off your water, we use an industrial air compressor and the appropriate fittings to run a continuous flow of air through each sprinkler zone for a minimum of two minutes to ensure water is out of the system. We’ll make sure your backflow preventer assembly is drained completely, and all valves and petcocks are positioned correctly to avoid freezing water damage.
Water quality testing
Some water sources, such as wells, should be regularly tested for quality. High levels of coliform bacteria, nitrates, and heavy metals in drinking water can have adverse health effects. We collect water samples using Dept. of Health approved containers, which are submitted to a private lab for testing. Cost of this service varies, depending on the type test requested by the customer.
